SARAJEVO, May 6 (FENA) - The Chinese economy is growing at an annual rate of nearly seven percent and despite turbulences in global political and economic relations, technological, scientific and any other development of this country is such that a transformation of the People’s Republic of China becomes more visible with each new day.

Journalists from Central and Eastern Europe, who as part of the 16 + 1 mechanism (Platform for Cooperation between China and countries of Southeast Europe), visited the People's Republic of China in a study visit.

China's rapid economic development could not have happened without numerous scientific and research centers and high-tech technology centers across the country.

Only such center, BOE Tehnology Group Co. has more than 60,000 useful patent solutions that are being implemented in high-tech industry. BOE is a proud owner of over 3,000 international, recent patents covering the United States, Europe, Japan, South Korea and other countries and regions.

Everything related to infrastructure and technology in China is either the largest in the world or is at the very top. This is no longer a country known mostly for the Great Wall of China, an impressive architectural wonder that attracts millions of tourists from all over the world, but a country which more and more becomes known for its magnificent, contemporary architectural achievements and projects that break the world records.

Probably the best example of this technological advancement and readiness to invest in research and technology is FAST (The Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical Radio Telescope), one of the most important scientific infrastructure projects in the country.

After 20 years of searching for the best location, Chinese experts have built this giant telescope in the mountainous region of Guizhou Province and they proudly underline that it is the largest single-opening telescope in the world. It is a 500 meters wide, a fixed-length parabolic telescope, which enables high-precision astronomical observations of large sky surface. FAST is at the moment the largest and most sensitive radio telescope in the world.

Thousands of skyscrapers quickly and permanently changed the landscape of many of the Chinese cities, but the Canton Tower represents somewhat of a national pride. This gigantic building dominates the sea of skyscrapers of the modern southern city of Guangzhou.

The 600-meter-tall tower, of which 450 meters is the building itself, is the tallest tower in China and the third tallest in the world. The tower has broken down several world records, including the fact that it houses the largest outdoor observation deck. In addition to being a major tourist attraction, the Canton Tower is another notable symbol of Chinese modern engineering and growing technological and economic power.

Guangzhou is also the seat of the Guangdong Province, which is probably the most notable example of China's economic development.

Located in the southeast of China, it is also a kind of roadway to the world, both maritime and railway. A quarter of Chinese exports and one ninth of national GDP is generated in this province that is directly linked to Hong Kong and Macao. A significant contribution to this growth also comes from the large export-import trade fair that has accumulated a volume of exports worth 1.2335 trillion USD over the past 50 years.

The majority of the trade is conducted via railway and sea routes, and the City of Dongguan plays especially important role in all of this as the world-renowned manufacturing center with more than 30,000 industrial plants.

Its development, as well as the development of the entire province as well as China as a country, greatly contributes to the development of free trade zones and stronger road connections with Hong

The Chinese people are particularly proud of their new architectural wonder, the largest maritime bridge connecting Zhuhai, Hong Kong and Macao, with total length of 55 kilometers.

The main part of this mega structure, whose opening is expected this year, consists of a 22.9 kilometers long bridge and a 6.7 kilometers long underwater tunnel.

Thirty journalists from Central and Eastern Europe, including FENA’S reporter that was on site, witnessed this new Chinese wonder of architecture and structural engineering.

Plenty of what China has to offer, which was in part mentioned above, as well as its rich historical and cultural heritage, has been attracting an increasing number of tourists each year.

Opening of the PR China to the world has resulted in a tourism boom and an additional popularization of Chinese cuisine. Being it the restaurants that serve the famous "Peking duck" or street vendors that offer seafood and other specialties and delicacies, tourists are guaranteed an unforgettable gastronomic experience.
