WASHINGTON, May 7 (FENA) - Gala dinner was held in Washington by the Advisory Council for BiH (ACBH) to mark the 75th anniversary of BiH statehood, and former U.S. president Bill Clinton addressed at the event.

President of the Advisory Council Ajla Delkić said that citizens of BiH became proud Americans because both of these states share the values of accepting others and different.

Delkić emphasized that the main goal of everyone who loves BiH today is to defeat forces that advocate tyranny of the minority over democratic majority.

President Delkić thanked both republicans and democrats in the U.S. Congress who support BiH as a civic state of equal citizens.

Representatives of the Council presented Clinton with a “Lifetime Achievement Award” for his role in ending the aggression against BiH.

Special recognition was also awarded to a former member of the BiH Presidency Haris Silajdžić, and U.S. generals Gordon Sullivan and Wesley Clark, former chief commander of NATO for Europe.
