SARAJEVO, May 29 (FENA) - The public enterprise "FBiH Motorways" have comprised an alternative plan, after more than 100 million KM have been blocked on a special account of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina collected from excise tax, as means to overcome this crisis period.
Managing Director of the enterprise, Adnan Terzić told ‘Dnevni avaz’ that they plan to issue bonds in the amount of 100 million KM, which will help continue the financing of the motorways construction.
"Apart from being an efficient way, we want to show the FBiH Government that in this way we can solve the problem of roads construction financing in the long run, which is a model for the future, and which does not include taking loans from commercial banks," Terzić said.
He pointed out that the FBiH Government approved the amount of 100 million KM from the funds received based on the settlement of the clearing debt with the Russian Federation.
“The funds are intended for the construction of expressway Lašva - Nević Polje. But that is just a third of the money needed. We will offer a higher interest rate than the commercial banks and we are certain that we can draw in the investors,” said Terzić.
