SARAJEVO, June 4 (FENA) - Twenty-three students, members of the Croat people outside the Republic of Croatia studying at universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, signed today in Sarajevo scholarship agreements in the amount of 7,000 kunas (about 1,850 KM) for academic year 2017/2018.
The scholarship agreements were presented by Croatian Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina Ivan Del Vechio and Head of the Sector for Implementation and Supervision of Programs and Projects of Croats outside Croatia Dario Magdić congratulating them on their success and wishing them success in completing this and next year.
In addressing the students, the Ambassador explained that the Government of Croatia actually signed the scholarship agreements and that this is being done for multiple reasons, one of which is that the Constitution of Croatia defines the constitutional category of care for Croats outside the homeland.
"For Croatia, it is very important that every Croat stays in BiH because it is a national interest of Croatia and in order to realize this, since it is not easy in political or economic terms, the Croatian Government assists in healthcare, education and preservation of cultural heritage of Croats in BiH," the Ambassador said.
