SARAJEVO, June 5 (FENA) - After another meeting of representatives of BiH political parties and the international community organized for the purpose of reaching agreement on amendments to the Election Law of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the participants said at the press conference that this had been a good meeting on which the commitment to finding a solution was expressed.

The leaders of several BiH parliamentary parties discussed the possible amendments in the presence of experts from the Venice Commission, the Delegation of the European Union to BiH and the United States Embassy to BiH.

Acting Deputy Assistant US Secretary of State Matthew Palmer said the meeting held today had been good, in the spirit of political rapprochement to the solution, adding that everything is being done to so that elections in October are held, that the election results are implemented and that government is formed that would lead BiH into the future.

Director at the European External Action Service (EEAS) for Western Europe, Western Balkans and Turkey Angelina Eichhorst reiterated that this was part of the consultation process with a focus on the October elections and that it is now the right moment to consider realistic opportunities.

She conveyed a message from the officials in Brussels, saying they want to see BiH strongly on its way to the European Union, but also finding of a solution. She stresses that there is still a lot of work and tasks to be done, but claims that today they have seen the readiness to find a solution and clear awareness of taking responsibility for the next steps.

US Ambassador to BiH Maureen Cormack said they had a positive discussion in which they all agreed that it is necessary to start with more concrete solutions and to work urgently in the next weeks and organize meetings to find a solution.

EU Special Representative and Head of EU Delegation to BiH Lars-Gunnar Wigemark underlined that the implementation of the election results and the verdict of the Constitutional Court ruling in the "Ljubić" case, i.e. finding a solution for the election of delegates to the House of Peoples of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, was crucial.

"Focus needs to be put on this and the leaders have started to focus on it, but there is a lot of work ahead of you and it is important to continue in the coming days because the time is running out," he said.
