SARAJEVO, June 7 (FENA) - At today's meeting in Sarajevo which focused on the amendments to the BiH Election Law, no agreement was reached between the representatives of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA), the Croat Democratic Union (HDZ) BiH, the Alliance for a Better Future (SBB), the Democratic Front and the Social Democratic Party of BiH.
SDA President Bakir Izetbegović told reporters after the meeting that it seemed they were close to certain solutions at the last meeting but that they failed to reach any today.
"I will not say who is to blame or give out any details in order to preserve the possibility of reaching an agreement in the continuation of the negotiations," he added.
Secretary General of DF, Zlatko Miletić, pointed out that the political parties, apart from HDZ, have aligned their views on the so-called "ad hoc solution based on the FBiH Constitution, but that HDZ representatives are still against it.”
Deputy President of HDZ BiH Borjana Krišto claims that there is no agreement because “the Constitutional Court's decisions are not respected because they insist on the 1991 census and on the Constitutional provisions that are questionable at this moment and HDZ also filed a motion for the assessment of their constitutionality.”
“There is no legitimate representation if the 1991 census is applied. Representation of constituent peoples must be proportional to the number of members of the constituent people in the Federation and we will insist on this,” stressed Krišto.
The talks should be continued next week.
