SARAJEVO, July 5 (FENA) - Kingdom of Saudi Arabia donated two million U.S. dollars for completion of infrastructural improvements at locations of ammunition storage of Armed Forces of BiH.
Donation Agreement was signed today by Ambassador of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to BiH Hani bin Abdulah bin Muhamed Mominah and Resident Representative of the UN Development Program in BiH (UNDP BiH) Sezin Sinanoglu.
Minister of Defense of BiH Marina Pendeš thanked the Ambassador for the donation and said that it will secure completion of infrastructural improvements at the location "Kula“ in Mrkonjić-Grad and "Teufik Buza Tufo“ in Visoko, security of people and local communities.
Ambassador Mominah emphasized that Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will continue supporting BiH in area of security, economy, etc.
He reminded this is a second donation of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia towards increasing security of ammunition storage in BiH.
With today's donation, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia helped Armed Forces of BiH with three million U.S. dollars for implementation of ammunition storage projects in two months.
Ambassador Sinanoglu said that apart from working on infrastructural security of ammunition storage, the UNDP also works on destruction of ammunition and donation of Saudi Arabia is a good example of unity and mutual coordination between international and local partners in BiH.
Project "EXPLODE+“, as multi-donor platform, is implemented by Ministry of Defense of BiH and UNDP, with support from the Federal Republic of Germany, Kingdom of Holland, Kingdom of Norway, the USA, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and EUFOR. EXPLODE+ project is continuation of EXPLODE project, which was financed by the EU from 2013.
