SARAJEVO, July 18 (FENA) - Implementation of the Employment Support Project worth 108 million KM in the next four years should make it possible to employ 23,000 people, it was emphasized at the presentation of this project today in Sarajevo.

Director of the FBiH Employment Agency Helena Lončar said that the institution will receive about 60 million KM in total during the four years of the project implementation, which will be spent through existing programs of support for employment and self-employment.

She said that by analyzing the measures implemented so far they have found that the number of employed women was significantly lower than men, so they created the program "Employ a Woman", and determined the different amounts for starting their own business for women.

Lončar added that there will be no special calls for these funds, but that along with the funds they offer already they will provide additional help which is small compared to the interest shown by employers for co-financing programs.

“There is no special program for spending the funds from the World Bank loan, but it will only strengthen our starting position, but these measures have to help employ 5,000 long-term unemployed and 1,800 young people,” said Lončar.

FBiH Minister of Labor and Social Policy Vesko Drljača said that the project specifically refers to young people, who are having difficult time in finding employment, as well as vulnerable categories, people over 40 years of age, and special attention will be given to women.

The value of the project is 108 million KM, of which 29 million has been secured by the World Bank and the rest will be secured from the budget of the Federation of BiH.
