FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, July 23 (FENA) - Upon learning the news of the death of the President of the "Mothers of Srebrenica" association, Hatidža Mehmedović, Chairman of the BiH Presidency, Bakir Izetbegović sent a letter of condolence to the leadership and members of the association, as well as to all surviving victims of genocide, as Hatidža Mehmedović was their true representative and leader, said the BiH Presidency.

“I was deeply saddened with the news of the death of Hatidža Mehmedović, a mother, a heroine, peace activist, prominent fighter for truth and justice about the genocide in Srebrenica.

Her passing leaves us without another true symbol of suffering of the Bosniak people, a symbol of Bosnian woman's courage, perseverance and dignity.

She devoted her life to the search for her dearest and to bury them with dignity, but also to the struggle to make sure that genocide and war crimes that had happened in Bosnia and Herzegovina never happen to anyone ever again," Izetbegović wrote in his letter of condolence.
