SARAJEVO, August 24 (FENA) – President of Party of Democratic Action (SDA) Bakir Izetbegović and Vice President of SDA and candidate of the party for member of the BiH Presidency Šefik Džaferović addressed at a public discussion held at the Youth Hall in Sarajevo last night and promised that policy this party advocates will overpower all forces that are against BiH and complete the historic mission of building a European state.
Izetbegović and Džaferović presented results from the previous mandate, spoke about the vision and program for the upcoming period and shared their views on current political topics.
Izetbegović spoke about the weapons and announcements on introduction of a mandatory military service in neighboring countries.
"Instead of directing money to development of economy and keeping young people in the country, they decided to spend it on weapons, which is completely wrong. Unfortunately, due to such policies we will be forced to strengthen our defense capacities. We will continue developing defense industry. We will overpower all forces that are against BiH and complete the historic mission of building the European state of BiH, which we started nearly three decades ago," emphasized Izetbegović.
Džaferović spoke about results in the previous mandate, stating that European and NATO path has been unblocked, that BiH is about to get a candidate status for the European Union and activation of MAP and that there has been a strong recovery in the BiH economy.
He added this is not enough and that there is still a lot work to be done.
"We still have a lot more work to do. Along with reforms, which have given very tangible results, we made preparations and created preconditions for a stronger economic growth in the years to come. We have secured funds for building complete Corridor 5-C and network of fast roads towards all regional centers, we prepared health and education reforms, as well as numerous projects in area of energy," emphasized Džaferović.
Asked if threats on secession of Republika Srpska and potential new conflict in BiH can come true, Bakir Izetbegović answered that those dangerous words should not be neglected because they open wounds that have healed to some extent, but that BiH can only be brought down by people, not politicians.
