GORAŽDE, September 26 (FENA) - The Anti-Corruption Network in BiH ACCOUNT and the Helsinki Committee for Human Rights today in Goražde presented the results of the analysis of the legislative framework in the field of employment in the public sector in the seven cantons of the Federation of BiH.

As it was pointed out at the press conference, the Helsinki Committee for Human Rights analyzed the legislative framework in Posavina, Podrinje, Tuzla, Central Bosnia, Zenica-Doboj, Una-Sana and Canton 10.

“Corruption in employment is an all-present phenomenon, not only at the cantonal but at all levels of government in Bosnia and Herzegovina and as such is a major problem for the working age population.

It is essential that the recruitment process in the civil service be made more transparent, that the discretionary powers of the heads of the administrative bodies be abolished, thus maximizing the chances for preventing corruption,” said Mirjana Ćuskić of the Helsinki Committee for Human Rights in Bijeljina.

She added that the subject of this analysis was in fact the regulation of the tender procedure in the employment in the public sector.

The Helsinki Committee for Human Rights comprised the analysis in cooperation with partner organizations, members of ACCOUNT Sector Employment Group: CGS Livno, ALDI Gorazde, and KAM Zenica.

The activity was implemented as part of the project of the Anticorruption Network in BiH - ACCOUNT.
