Indictment raised for burning of Aladza Mosque in Foca in 1992

SARAJEVO, October 15 (FENA) - Prosecutor of the Special Department for War Crimes of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH raised an indictment against Goran Mojović (1969) from Foča, who is accused of burning of the Aladza Mosque, that is, crime against humanity related to destruction of cultural, historic and religious monuments.

The accused is charged of acting against provisions of the Geneva Convention on protection of cultural goods in armed conflict on 2nd August 1992, by placing explosive and causing explosion, completely destroying cultural-historic and religious monument, Aladza Mosque, Prosecutor's Office of BiH stated.

Aladza Mosque is a historic and religious monument built in 1550/1551, and it was a monument under protection of the state since 1950.

Prosecutor's Office of BiH will prove the allegations by questioning 36 witnesses, two expert witnesses and presenting over 200 pieces of material evidence, it is stated.
