SARAJEVO, October 29 (FENA) - Raisu-l-ulama of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Husein effendi Kavazović sent a letter of condolence to the Jewish Community in the United States and the American people after the terrible attack on the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh.
Rais Kavazović addressed the letter of condolence to Rabbi Arthur Schneier, a longtime rabbi of the synagogue Park East in New York and the founder of the Appeal of Conscience Foundation.
“on behalf of the Islamic Community in BiH and myself, please convey the most sincere expressions of condolence to the victims of the terrible attack on the Pittsburgh Tree of Life Synagogue and the Jewish community in the United States.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their families, the whole Jewish community, and our friends in the United States. We hope for the speedy recovery of the wounded victims,” it is said in the letter.
Rais Kavazović also added that this horrible attack is yet another evidence of the danger of anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, racism, intolerance, discrimination, xenophobia and other forms of hatred that we encounter in today's world.
“We must confront these phenomena together wherever they may appear," it is said in the letter of condolence of Raisu-l-ulama Husein effendi Kavazović.
