Workshop in the framework of Green Economy Project taking place in Sarajevo

SARAJEVO, October 30 (FENA) - A three-day workshop on "Advocacy and lobbying for civil society organizations from Montenegro, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina" began today in Sarajevo as part of the presentation of the cross-border cooperation project "Green Economy for the Development of the Region" (GEAR).

The workshop is attended by representatives of some30 organizations, and the expected outcome of the project is networking of civil society organizations from the region dealing with environmental issues.

Project Manager of the Center for Development and Support from Tuzla, Amir Zahirović, said that the goal of the project is to connect organizations from these countries through building their capacities and intensifying dialogue with the authorities on the subject of the green economy.

“This is the second in a series of workshops in which we primarily deal with basic concepts of the green economy, the basis of lobbying, project cycle management and the like,” explained Zahirović.

The project is funded by the European Union under the Civil Society and Media Support Program from 2016 to 2017, and is implemented by FORS Montenegro in partnership with SMART Collective from Serbia, Center for Development and Support from BiH, ECO Consciousness from Macedonia, EDEN Center from Albania and the association ‘Slap’ from Croatia.
