France returns as participating country to the composition of EUFOR

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, November 14 (FENA) - On the occasion of the return of France to the composition of EUFOR in BiH, as the country participating in the mission after its departure three years ago, a ceremony of raising the flag was held today in Sarajevo at Camp Butmir.

The ceremony was attended by Ambassador of France to BiH Guillaume Rousson, EUFOR Commander, Major General Martin Dorfer, NATO HQ Commander in Sarajevo, Brigadier General Marti J. Bissell and French Police Attaché in BiH, Brigadier Jean-François Caparos.

General Dorfer welcomed France's return to EUFOR saying he was glad to celebrate the return today and to welcome France back to EUFOR, which increases the number of participating countries from 18 to 19.

This is another important step in the history of EUFOR, after last week the United Nations Security Council extended the EUFOR mandate, which points to the continued commitment of the UN and the EU to Bosnia and Herzegovina, stated EUFOR in a press release.

“We welcome the return of France as a significant contribution given by all EUFOR countries and we look forward to future joint work with our new counterpart under the common slogan "One mission, One Team," concluded Dorfer.
