BANJA LUKA, November 18 (FENA) - President of RS Milorad Dodik awarded yesterday in Banja Luka a deputy of the Russian State Duma, Pavel Sargeyevich Dorohin, with the Medal of the Flag of RS with a silver wreath.
Dorohin is the Head of the Russian Social Committee for the Protection of the Hague Tribunal convict Ratko Mladić, and he was also in Belgrade to promote a book about the life of the former RS Army Commander, who was sentenced to life imprisonment for war crimes and genocide in Bosnia and Herzegovina before the Hague Tribunal.
Pavel Dorohin was in the studio on Friday morning when Mladić joined the live program via telephone from the Hague detention unit on a Serbian TV station with a national frequency, which is why the Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals has reacted.
On behalf of RS, Dodik thanked Russia for its support and understanding of the implementation of the Dayton Peace Agreement, stating that "Russia's invested efforts in this field are not endangering anyone in Bosnia and Herzegovina."
He also said that "Russia has proven to be a very important factor in maintaining respect for international law, unlike some other countries that have devastated the Dayton Agreement and changed it with violence in previous years."
