SARAJEVO, December 5 (FENA) - Bosnia and Herzegovina today received positive and encouraging news from Brussels, a message we waited for years, which is that the NATO members have asked BiH to submit its first Annual National Program, thus activating the Membership Action Plan (MAP) for NATO membership, told FENA the Chairman of the BiH Council of Ministers Denis Zvizić.

He emphasized that the activation of MAP is one of the most important steps on the path to integration into the NATO alliance, but also an exceptional incentive for the continuation of the reform process.

“As of today, in addition to the issues of defense and security, we will significantly engage in a number of other areas from the sphere of politics, economics and the rule of law. Instead of playing games with flags that we have witnessed in the past few days, I believe it is very important to focus on key and concrete issues,” said Zvizdić.

He emphasized that the activation of MAP is a matter of stability that leads to security, new investments and economic prosperity of BiH.

“Economic prosperity leads to creation of new jobs and retention of young, capable and educated people in the country. Therefore, the activation of MAP, the annual program and continuation of activities related to NATO integration are all extremely important.

I expect and I believe that the future coalition at the state level must be based on the continuation of activities and priorities that are important for BiH, said Zvizdić, and singled out EU integration, economic development and activities on BiH's path to NATO membership.

He thanked NATO members for recognizing BiH's efforts on the path to NATO integration.

He also thanked the BiH Presidency in all previous convocations that invested their effort to make the necessary decisions and to adopt the Defense Strategy and the modernization of the BiH Armed Forces.

He also thanked the Council of Ministers of BiH, in particular the BiH Ministry of Defense for the activities that resulted in the registration of military property, but also to all members of the BiH Armed Forces.
