SARAJEVO, January 9 (FENA) - Marking of the so-called “Day of RS” on January 9 represents a flagrant violation of the final and binding decision of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina which declared the marking of January 9 as the day of the entity of RS and its celebration as a holiday, an unconstitutional act, stressed the BiH Presidency member Šefik Džaferović.
Džaferović noted that "all those who participate in this anti-constitutional act are in gross violation of the Dayton Peace Agreement, as the basis for peace and stability in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region."
“This also applies to the officials of the Republic of Serbia who, with their congratulations and presence in Banja Luka on this day, have shown utter disrespect for Bosnia and Herzegovina and its institutions, and in addition to this, they continue to encourage policymakers that threaten security in the region.
Such politics cannot bring anybody any good, and especially to the entity of RS and its citizens,” emphasized the BiH Presidency member.
He also noted that such actions are sending absolutely wrong messages to Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also throughout the region, "especially considering that the Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia has accepted the decorations awarded by RS previously awarded to Rafovan Karadžić, Momčilo Krajišnik, Biljana Plavšić and others who were tried, judged and convicted before international courts as war criminals, which made her stand with them side by side."
Finally, the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, primarily the BiH Prosecutor's Office, underlined Džaferović, are obliged to finally start apply the law, since the refusal to implement the decisions of the Constitutional Court of BiH is a criminal offense in itself, the BiH Presidency stated.
