EAST SARAJEVO, January 15 (FENA) - The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) is not a neutral organization because it has sided with the enemies of the Serb people, said today Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina and President of the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD) Milorad Dodik ahead of Christmas reception that he hosted in the administrative center of the entity of RS in East Sarajevo.

Dodik stressed that “BiH has many tasks ahead, among which are the implementation of election results in order to strengthen the sovereignty of BiH, which implies the departure of foreign judges from the Constitutional Court and the High Representative in BiH, along with the path of BiH towards the European Union.”

“The issue of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s accession to the EU should not be tied to the NATO accession. Republika Srpska has its resolution about military neutrality and I will respect it. The position on NATO is exclusively tied to the fact that NATO bombed us, inflicted serious damages against the Serb people and is oriented towards dissolution of Republika Srpska in a political sense,” Dodik said.

Therefore, Dodik argues, “it is not possible for RS to accept to be a part of that alliance because it would mean a complete break-up of RS,” while it is his desire for RS to become even stronger and stable.

“We are not against the entity remaining within BiH, but we have to return to the origins of the Dayton Peace Agreement because it is the only BiH can exist. Bosnia and Herzegovina that was built by the High Representatives has been unsuccessful and unsustainable,” claims Dodik.

He announced that, at its first session, the National Assembly of RS would adopt the amendments to the existing laws that would imply that persons who violate the decisions of the entity’s legislative body in the BiH institutions will be sanctioned with a prison sentence of three to ten years.

He reiterated that “SNSD was not only and exclusively concerned with and focused on the formation of the Council of Ministers of BiH, but we are ready to accept responsibility,” but Dodik argues that “Bosniaks ‘played’ him because Denis Zvizdić was appointed to the Collegium of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, but then the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) withdrew from the appointment of a new convocation of the BiH Council of Ministers.”

He referred once again to the issue of genocide committed in Srebrenica, rejecting the findings and the judgments of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, which qualified this war crime as genocide, adding that “the RS government is still devoted to the formation of an international commission on Srebrenica.”

Speaking about a letter to the Republic of Croatia requesting the protection of the state property of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dodik said that there is a consensus on this issue within the BiH Presidency, and if this issue is not solved, he is ready to introduce reciprocal measures.

He reiterated that RS does not need the consent of the state authorities for the construction of hydropower plants on the Drina River, because “this is on the territory of Republika Srpska”, stating that “everything that RS has asked from the state level regarding the development of the entity, got rejected.”

“This was the case with the project of building hydropower plants on the Drina River with Italian partners, as well as with the issue of building a gas pipeline from the direction of Serbia. But, we will ask for this again this and it will be the key point of our relationship with BiH, but also for our decision to remain in BiH, because we do not think we should remain in a place where they prevent us from doing what we want,” said Dodik.

Russian President Vladimir Putin is arriving this week in an official visit to Serbia, and Dodik said that this is very important for the Serb people and the whole region, and announced that he would meet with Putin tête-à-tête, and invited the other two members of the Presidency “to give their suggestions on the topics that he should discuss with Putin.”
