SARAJEVO, January 15 (FENA) - Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Šefik Džaferović received today the UN Resident Coordinator for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sezin Sinanoglu and discussed cooperation between BiH and the United Nations, as well as the projects that the UN organizations are implementing in our country.
Coordinator Sinanoglu emphasized that the UN has very good cooperation with all levels of government in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
She informed Džaferović about the reform of the internal organization of the UN, which will substantially strengthen the presence of this organization in BiH.
They also talked about the Dialogue for the Future project, jointly initiated by the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the UN that should be extended to the countries in the region in its next stage.
The two officials emphasized that this is the right way to establish dialogue, restore trust among peoples and preserve stability in the region.
They also touched on the topic of migrant crisis, and the need to further improve the cooperation of the BiH authorities and the UN organizations.
Sinanoglu pointed out that the UN currently provides accommodation for 3,000 of the total number of about 4,000 migrants present in BiH.
Sinanoglu praised the commitment of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the implementation of the UN 2030 Agenda for sustainable development.
The BiH Presidency Member Džaferović gave his full support to UN activities in our country, expressing expectation that cooperation in the implementation of all joint projects would be further enhanced in the upcoming period, stated the BiH Presidency.
