SARAJEVO, January 25 (FENA) - Association "Mothers of Srebrenica" expect representatives of embassies, member countries of the Peace Implementation Council to protect the victims and returnees, in accordance with their mandate, and contribute to building of peace and security in Srebrenica, where the most atrocious crime was committed since World War II in Europe.
"We would also like to urge the embassies to react regarding the disturbed security situation in Srebrenica, given their mandate and commitments stemming from the Dayton Treaty, in relation with the implementation of peace and protection of returnees and genocide victims. We ask ambassadors of member countries of the Peace Implementation Council, except the Russian Federation, to cancel hospitality to Mayor Mladen Grujičić in their embassies and to cancel all visits and cooperation with municipal institutions of Srebrenica until local authorities of Srebrenica change their policies towards returnees and genocide victims," said the Association in a press release.
Security situation and interethnic relations in Srebrenica were permanently disturbed as of events that took place on January 6, when a fire weapon was used, Chetnik songs sang and hog waste disposed near Potočari Memorial Center.
It is unbelievable that in a city where genocide was committed there is a policy of intimidation and national hatred and that ideology and war criminals convicted by the highest institutions of international justice are being promoted, it was stated.
