MOSTAR, January 27 (FENA) - Dragan Čović, who was re-elected president of the Croatian National Assembly (HNS) on Saturday, called representatives of Bosniak and Serb parties to gather at the negotiation table but he repeated the main precondition for cooperation is agreement on amendments to the Election Law of BiH.
“I want to send a message to our friends within Bosniak and Serb people, but also to the international community, that what we want is the European BiH where Croats will find their place as an equal people. No one will give us that if we do not fight for it ourselves,” said Čović after HNS session on Saturday.
He called everyone to cooperation because it is the only way out of this crisis which has been going on for two years.
“Our message is to adopt an Election Law which will eliminate possibility for someone else to elect political representatives for Croats, both in House of Peoples and the Presidency,” he said.
According to him, legitimate Croat political representatives will continue fighting for equality of Croat people in the entire BiH based on guidelines stated in the HNS Declaration adopted at yesterday’s session.
