Cvijanović: It's time for PIC to take a realistic stance of the situation in BiH

PRNJAVOR, January 28 (FENA) - President of the entity of Republika Srpska (RS) Željka Cvijanović believes it is high time that the Peace Implementation Council (PIC) takes a realistic stance on the situation and recent developments in BiH.

“If the PIC is in session to discuss any topic, it should take a realistic stance of it, and say outright who is the one that is raising tension here, creating additional misunderstandings among the peoples, and who is the one that is destroying even the slightest chance for some internal dialogue,” said Cvijanović.

She added that, when it comes to forums convened by foreigners in BiH, her expectations are not great.

“I think they should not meddle into our day-to-day topics and activities. But, here we have a different situation. There are many topics that domestic politicians throw out there, which are often fabricated, wrongly motivated and encouraged or initiated by some foreign officials here,” argues Cvijanović.

She said that she would not be surprised to learn that every idea or initiative that is thrown out there from the Federation of BiH "is actually the result of the agreement between local Bosniak parties with certain foreign officials".

The session of the Steering Board of the Peace Implementation Council, which should include the initiative of SDA for initiating legal proceedings before the Constitutional Court of BiH for the purpose of reviewing the constitutionality of the name of Republika Srpska, as one of the topics, is scheduled for tomorrow.

Cvijanovic also commented on the locating of 32 migrants this morning at the railway station in Banja Luka, reiterating the view that the challenge of the migration crisis in BiH has not been met appropriately by the domestic institutions.

The RS government last year said that there was no possibility for migrants to remain on the territory of RS.
