SARAJEVO, January 28 (FENA) - The BiH Presidency Member Željko Komšić told reporters in Sarajevo today that members of the state presidency are going to Brussels with a message that it would be good and wise, not only for BiH citizens, but perhaps also for the countries of the European Union, that BiH is granted a candidate status.
It's true, he says, that we perhaps are not all that they would want to see in Brussels.
“But, we fear that every day, every month that is lost, or in our case, the years, having in mind the elections for the European Parliament that are near, means that we can lose this year and it can be very harmful not only for BiH, but also for the entire region,” said Komšić.
In his words, this decision that should be made by the officials in Brussels may seem like a technical decision, "but it is also deeply political decision".
“We believe such decision would be useful both for BiH and the region, and I believe, for the entire European Union,” said Komšić.
Asked about the decision of the Croat People's Assembly to reject the judgments and qualifications of the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia on a joint criminal enterprise, Komšić said that today, when we mark the International Day of Remembrance of Holocaust Victims, it can only be said that "we in BiH are seem to be dealing with far more serious form of fascism than we might have thought."
