SARAJEVO, February 20 (FENA) – Museum of Crimes against Humanity and Genocide, which was founded in 2016 in Sarajevo, speaks about proportion of crimes committed in BiH in the nineties during the latest war.
This museum is one of the two institutions under patronage of Bosnian Remembrance Museum, which displays numerous exhibits as testimonies of what was done to people in concentration camps and other crime sites across the country.
Great number of items and archival material has been collected over the past three years and in order to display it all in the museum in Sarajevo it takes twice as much room than the current space.
Member of the BiH Presidency Šefik Džaferović visited this institution yesterday and one of the founders of the museum Jasmin Mešković informed him about the most important exhibits and told a few harrowing stories kept between walls of this museum.
Mission of this institution, said Džaferović, is to preserve memory of all evil inflicted upon BiH and its citizens during the aggression. Exhibit is a witness of truth on all events and future can only be built on truth, justice and memory.
"All those who minimize and dispute genocide and glorify war crimes should come here and once again see what they already know on events in BiH in the most difficult period of its history," emphasized Džaferović.
Džaferović emphasized it is necessary to find a systematic solution to finance the Museum because everyone needs this institution and he announced that Cabinet of Member of the BiH Presidency will continue helping its work.
Mešković reminded there is also a Museum of Victims of War and Genocide in Mostar, adding this institution needs capacity to translate archival material in other languages and technical equipment.
He warned that the RS Government plans 350.000 KM in its budget for denial of rulings of international courts which determined the proportion of crimes and genocide.
