Indictment confirmed in Slobodan Ćurčić case for war crimes against humanity

SARAJEVO, February 21 (FENA) - The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina confirmed the indictment charging the accused Slobodan Ćurčić with the criminal offense of Crimes against Humanity under Article 172(1), Subparagraphs a) and g), all as read with Article 180(1) of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CC BiH).

The indictment, inter alia, alleges that between early April and late September 1992, during a widespread and systematic attack launched by military, para-military and police forces of the so-called Serb Republic of BiH, subsequently Republika Srpska, aimed against the Bosniak civilian population of the Foča municipality, knowing of the attack and that his actions constituted part of the attack, as a member of the armed forces of the so-called Serb Republic of BiH, subsequently Republika Srpska, Slobodan Ćurčić committed murder of civilians, as well as rape against a woman, using force and the threat of force, stated the BiH Court.
