MOSTAR, February 26 (FENA) - Laying of wreaths at the memorial site in Matića brdo near Mostar marked the 15th anniversary of the death of Macedonian President Boris Trajkovski, who, together with his associates and crew members, was killed in an airplane crash as he was traveling to Mostar to attend the International Investment Conference in 2004.
Delegations of the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia, the Presidency of BiH, the Office of the President of the Republic of North Macedonia, the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH, the Embassy of the Republic of North Macedonia in BiH, the Government of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, the City of Mostar and the Macedonian Association in BiH all visited the site and laid wreaths.
Suheil Fazliy, Minister of local self-government, addressed the delegations on behalf of the Government of North Macedonia saying that the late President Trajkovski left an indelible mark in Macedonian history.
The Macedonian government's aircraft crashed on February 26, 2004, in the area of village of Rotimlje.
Apart from Trajkovski, on the plane were also advisers from his office, Dimka Ilkova-Bošković, Risto Blaževski and Anita Lozanovska, Macedonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mile Krstevski, members of security detail, Boris Velinov and Ace Velinovski, and pilots Marko Markovski and Branko Ivanovski. There were no survivors of the plane crash.
