SARAJEVO, March 3 (FENA) - Delegations of state, federal, cantonal, city and municipal authorities, as well as veterans' organizations and other citizens associations, on the occasion of March 1, the Independence Day of Bosnia and Herzegovinam laid flowers and said prayers at the Kovači cemetery in Sarajevo at the central memorial and the grave of the first president of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Alija Izetbegović.
After laying flowers and paying respect, members of the BiH Presidency, Željko Komšić and Šefik Džaferović, congratulated all citizens of BiH and the diaspora the Independence Day of BiH.
"At a place and a day like this one, it is an opportunity to remember those who are no longer with us, who died for this country, who gave everything they could give, as well as those who lost their health and parts of their body ... They are the ones who deserve all the gratitude for everything that we have today," Komšić said in his address.
As he added, a man can be disappointed in politics and in the government, but he can not be disappointed in his homeland.
Today, as Džaferović said, we remember and pay tribute to the offspring of Bosnia and Herzegovina who gave their lives for the freedom we enjoy today.
Chairman of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bakir Izetbegović, Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH Denis Zvizdić, the BiH Armed Forces delegation, the Federation of BiH, Sarajevo Canton, the City of Sarajevo, the Party of Democratic Action, and delegations of municipalities and numerous veteran organizations from all over BiH joined the commemoration on the occasion of the Independence Day of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
