SARAJEVO, March 6 (FENA) - Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH and Minister of Finance and Treasury Vjekoslav Bevanda received today a delegation of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) led by Head of Mission for BiH, Martin Petri.
The two sides pointed out that forming the government remains a priority topic, but also a prerequisite for stronger implementation of reforms, including those agreed with the IMF.
Minister Bevanda emphasized that the Council of Ministers, on the proposal of the Ministry of Finance and Treasury of BiH, unanimously adopted the Draft Budget of the BiH Institutions and sent it into further procedure to the BiH Presidency.
Minister Bevanda reiterated that the first year after the elections is the most favorable period for making quality reform decisions, and this includes cooperation with the IMF.
The interlocutors agreed that talks on future cooperation between the BiH institutions and IMF should continue after the full formation of the government, and assessed that economic indicators for BiH are good and are not below the expected level.
Up to now, within the Extended Fund Facility arrangement between BiH and the IMF, two tranches of approximately 150 million KM per tranche were paid to the entity accounts, and the total value of the loan program is about 1.1 billion KM.
The meeting was also attended by Resident Representative of the IMF in BiH Francisco Parodi, stated the Ministry of Finance and Treasury of BiH.
