Osmanović-Sinanoglu: Great progress of BiH in Sustainable Development Goals

SARAJEVO, March 15 (FENA) - Minister of Civil Affairs of BiH Adil Osmanović met in Sarajevo yesterday with the UN Resident Coordinator in BiH Sezin Sinanoglu and they agreed that BiH has made great progress in implementing the Sustainable Development Goals and that it has caught up with states that were significantly ahead in certain areas.

They also stated that there was a strategic approach to this area and with good coordination and cooperation of state, entity levels of government and Brčko District representatives.

Sinanoglu informed Minister Osmanović that a Framework for Sustainable Development Goals is being prepared within the Working Group for monitoring implementation of Goals, as well as the report that will be presented in the United Nations.

Sinanoglu reminded that BiH is implementing 17 sustainable development goals under patronage of the United Nations, adding she finds that BiH is ready to get involved in the 18th goal, referring to demining, which Minister Osmanović confirmed.

They also discussed the project "Dialogue for the Future", which is implemented under patronage of the BiH Presidency, Ministry of Civil Affairs of BiH stated.
