SARAJEVO, April 3 (FENA) - Chairman of the Sarajevo Canton Tourism Board Committee, Nermin Muzur, said today that tourists most often come to Sarajevo because of the fact that for the money they spend they get incomparably more compared to other tourist destinations, but also because of good entertainment and gastronomy offer.
The Sarajevo Canton Tourism Board organized today the conference "Needs, Expectations and Past Experiences" to inform domestic travel agencies, hotel operators and licensed tour guides on the profile of tourists visiting the Sarajevo Canton and Bosnia and Herzegovina as a whole.
Muzur stressed that at the conference will offer a new insight for numerous domestic tourism workers to find out more about the profiles, needs and expectations of tourists from the United States, Italy, Great Britain, Spain, Qatar and Malaysia, and other countries from all over the world and in order to make the best preparations for the upcoming summer season, in order to be better hosts and welcome the guests more readily.
“Representatives of the embassies will share experiences of tourists from their countries, good and bad, and we will try to accommodate their needs until the beginning of the season, in order to make their stay in Sarajevo as comfortable and as pleasant as possible,” said Muzur.
He said that in the first two months of 2019, Sarajevo has recorded about 90,000 visits and 200,000 overnight stays, which is 16 percent more than the same period last year.
He expressed satisfaction with the increase in the percentage of overnight stays, and that now stands at 2.3 nights.
