SARAJEVO, April 8 (FENA) - Chairman of the BiH Council of Ministers, Denis Zvizdić, today in Sarajevo, asked to comment on the "redefining of borders" that the BiH Presidency Chairman Milorad Dodik spoke once again about, said that "the border on the Drina River between the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the state of Serbia has existed for centuries and will remain as such until the end of days.”
“This border will be the border between two friendly, neighboring countries until the world exists,” said Zvizdić.
He reiterated that BiH is a sovereign, independent state, and that "we want to build good neighborly relations with our neighbors Croatia, Serbia and Montenegro, but only based on mutual respect and reciprocity."
“I call on our neighbors to adhere to basic European, democratic, international standards and principles. Therefore, I have repeatedly called for, as an expression of good will and sincerity among us, and I call again, to sign the border agreements, to ratify the border agreement signed between BiH and Croatia, to sign the border agreement between BiH and Serbia because these are internationally recognized borders,” said Zvizdić.
He called for "strengthening of the good neighborly relations of states on the territory of Western Balkans".
"Our past has been difficult, and that is why we have a huge responsibility to finally close the doors of the past, based on relevant historical facts, and for all of us to strive to open the new doors to the future," Zvizdić said.
