MOSTAR, 9 April (FENA) - The 22nd International Mostar Economy Fair officially opened today bringing together exhibitors from thirty countries of the world from all areas of the economy and business sectors.
The Fair was opened by the BiH Presidency Chairman Milorad Dodik who emphasized the importance of this event.
“The Mostar Fair is one of the major traditional business events in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Chinese partnership this year speaks a lot about the potentials of the Mostar Fair not only in the region, but also at the global level,” said Dodik.
Referring to the China's 16 + 1 initiative, Dodik noted that China's partnership is a great opportunity for BiH because the Chinese economy is one of the most important for global economic growth adding that BiH can learn a lot from China.
Dodik added that Serbia, last year's partner country in Mostar, “can also be an example because it has the fastest growing economy in the region,” and thanked Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić for recognizing the potentials of the Mostar event and for his arrival in Mostar this year as well.
Director General of the Mostar Fair, Dalfina Bošnjak, said that they were honored because the People's Republic of China, world economic power, is the partner country of this year's edition of the fair, which, as she said, is the most concrete and most effective confirmation that the cooperation between the two countries is developing with each new year.
"This partnership is a significant contribution to this fair and the entire connecting of not only our two countries, but also the countries of the region and wider region," Bošnjak said.
Vice President of the Chinese Council for Promotion of International Trade Zhang Shenfeng expressed his satisfaction with the partnership at this year's business exhibition in Mostar in his address before the guests.
“This year, China's exhibition space extends to 2000 square meters covering not only industrial but also science and technology companies, and there are also small and medium-sized enterprises,” said Shenfeng and expressed belief that Chinese exhibitors will open a new perspective on economy- trade cooperation between China and BiH.
He noted that the economies of China and BiH have a great potential for cooperation in various fields such as industry, agriculture, energy, transport and said that he would encourage Chinese companies to come to BiH, get acquainted with the business policies, investment climate and market needs.
The Mostar Economy Fair, one of the most important and most visited business exhibits in the region, is being held at a space spanning 30,000 square meters of indoor and outdoor exhibition space in the Free Economic Zone of Herzegovina.
