MOSTAR, 10 April (FENA) - President of HDZ BiH Dragan Čović said on Wednesday in Mostar, after a meeting with the SDA delegation, headed by President Bakir Izetbegović, that it is time to agree on the distribution of departments in the Council of Ministers of BiH.
“We talked individually about the Council of Ministers of BiH and agreed that we should sit down and agree on the distribution of the departments. As for the Government of the FBiH, we said that together we must seek solutions in order to devise a reform agenda where the first item would be the amendments to the Election Law and the City of Mostar because local elections are will be held next year. We agreed on the dynamic in order to reorganize some things within the FBiH Government as such," Čović told reporters after the meeting.
Izetbegović said that next week they will meet with representatives of both, SNSD and HDZ BiH to discuss the distribution of ministries in the Council of Ministers of BiH.
“When it comes to the FBiH level, HDZ insists that the solution of the Election Law that would comply with the decision of the Constitutional Court of BiH be clearly and precisely defined. These things must be done simultaneously, and solve the issues of the judgments of the Human Rights Court in Strasbourg that have been hanging over us for the past decade. We cannot solve them in seven days, but I think we can draft a map for the solution that is to come,” Izetbegović said.
He said that the activation of the MAP remains undefined, adding that he hopes a solution would be found for this issue as well, to form the BiH Council of Ministers and to prevent the crisis."
The SDA leader said he was satisfied with today's meeting and that it was a step forward.
“We had an unusually honest conversation about the mutual relations we have not had before. We have said some things and we see that there are some unnecessary misunderstandings here,” the SDA leader pointed out.
He emphasized that they also talked about some "hot topics" such as the third entity reminiscent of the Coat wartime statelet of Herzeg-Bosna, the announced forming of Herzeg-Bosna TV channel and such.
“I am satisfied with the answers that I received. The HDZ gave me an answer that it is not the intent of Croats to create some kind of third entity and they say that only bad policies by Bosniak representatives would push them in that direction.”
Čović added, referring to this issue, that, when it comes to pushing for a third entity, “I said roughly what Mr. Izetbegović said, the third entity can only be made by irresponsible decisions of Bosniaks towards Croats as the least numerous people in BiH.”
Asked why no one from the SDA attended the opening of the Mostar Fair, Čović said that he has had a feeling that sometimes there was white noise in communication.
“For example, when I chose not to come to Eid reception in Sarajevo or someone from SDA does not come to the Mostar Fair, it sends a message. We need to restore confidence through stronger communication. This situation requires us to be present together at joint events in BiH to send a message that there is no white noise in communication,” said the HDZ BiH leader.
He also reiterated that the Euro-Atlantic integration is a vital priority for the HDZ BiH and the HNS and that it is not fair to put it into question in any way, given how much everyone has worked on it.
Izetbegović refereed to the SNSD leader Milorad Dodik's statement that the SDA has been drafting a list of people and mobilization of military ready Bosniaks, as utter nonsense.
“If they are working on this plan to make a paramilitary unit from the entity police, then they will accuse us of mobilization. This is complete nonsense that unfortunately some people can take seriously,” said Izetbegović.
