SARAJEVO, April 11 (FENA) - The conference "Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region, in the light of NATO cooperation and partnership", marked the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the NATO today in Sarajevo.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH and Chairman of the NATO Integration Process Committee Josip Brkić said that one of the objectives of the conference through the dialogue of participants was to learn about the programs of cooperation and partnership between NATO and the countries of the region.
The BiH Defense Minister Marina Pendeš stressed that peace, security and stability have no an alternative, and therefore the path of BiH towards Euro-Atlantic integration has no alternative as well.
Ambassador of Hungary to BiH, Christian Posa, said that, as of this year, the embassy of his country is the NATO contact point for BiH, and that their primary task is NATO's promotion in BiH.
"We do not want to simply transfer what NATO requires from BiH, but we also want to transfer to Brussels what Bosnia and Herzegovina has to say," Posa explained.
Senior official of NATO's Office for Public Diplomacy for Russia and the Western Balkans, Robert Pszczel, said that BiH has a lot of work ahead, and that the key word in this job is reform.
He added that BiH can count on the help of NATO headquarters in Sarajevo, the headquarters of the Alliance in Brussels, and individual allies, such as the Embassy of Hungary, in this process.
