Dodik: Foreign embassies should stop meddling in our internal matters

BANJA LUKA, April 12 (FENA) - President of the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD), Milorad Dodik, announced that representatives of the party will meet with the representatives of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA) only once next week and that “they will no longer spend time on meetings that do not produce results regarding the formation of power at the state level.”

He pointed out that he fully rejects a proposal for forming new departmental ministries in the Council of Ministers of BiH.

“What we are witnessing is a blockade of the constitutional rights of Serbs, because the implementation of electoral will has been blocked,” said Dodik.

He dismissed as inappropriate yesterday's criticism by international officials in BiH in connection with the proposed draft law on public order and peace in RS, stressing that this is a direct interference in internal affairs of the entity.

“I ask them to stop meddling in our internal issues. Nobody banned any protests in RS,” he said, adding that the recent ones have lasted for more than 200 days, “and now these foreign officials are telling us that we should allow that to continue. What is there to allow? Are they the ones who are behind these protests?” asked Dodik.

He also says that the MUPRS should not submit its documents to international experts and embassies that they decide on them, and that they will request that it be interrupted, if such practice is involved.

These laws will, say, be the subject of a parliamentary debate, and asks what would happen if the RS transcribed the laws on the rights of the police in America and whether the ambassador of that country in BiH would stop this.

The reaction of the diplomats “represents meddling in our internal issues and I will ask for clarification about it,” Dodik said, adding that "the amendments to the law would be discussed as part of a democratic process".

He also says that the RS MoI should not submit its documents to international experts and embassies to comment and decide on them, and that he would demand that such practice is to be abolished if it has existed so far.

These laws, he says say, will be the subject of a parliamentary debate, and he asked what would happen if RS were to copy the laws on the rights of the police in United States and whether the ambassadors of that country in BiH would stop it.

“Imagine this – the statement reads that the EU path of BiH should be strengthened, while the United Kingdom is leaving the EU. They are insulting our intelligence," Dodik said.

He said that “the announced amendments to the Law on Public Peace and Order would not prevent journalists from doing their job, as the embassies claimed in their statement.”

Dodik then announced talks with the media community, “which will not be prevented from doing their job, but there must be no misuse.”

He pointed out that he has noting against the journalists obtaining the status of official persons, but also that this entails certain responsibilities.
