BiH Presidency requests a comprehensive response plan to the influx of migrants

SARAJEVO, April 17 (FENA) - The Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina at today’s session has obliged the competent institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina to take all necessary activities in order to obtain a positive opinion from the European Commission on BiH's application for EU membership and acquisition of a candidate status for EU membership.

The BiH Presidency has instructed the Council of Ministers of BiH to submit a comprehensive plan for the activities of state and entity institutions in accordance with the competencies in order to prevent the increased inflow of migrants into BiH.

The BiH Presidency accepted the invitation of the President of the Republic of Turkey for the official visit of the Chairman and members of the BiH Presidency to the Republic of Turkey, on May 2, 2019.

The BiH Presidency accepted the invitation to participate in the Summit of the countries of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), to be held in the Republic of Azerbaijan, Baku, on October 25 and 26, 2019.

The BiH Presidency accepted the invitation of the President of the Republic of Slovenia, the Republic of Croatia and the Republic of Albania addressed to the Chairman and members of the BiH Presidency for participation in the Brdo-Brijuni Process meeting, which will be held in Tirana on 8 and 9 May 2019.

The Presidency of BiH agrees that Bosnia and Herzegovina joins the Declaration on the Protection of Schools and Universities during Armed Conflicts, which was adopted on the Kingdom of Norway's initiative in 2015.

The BiH Presidency adopted the decisions on the acceptance of the agreements and the determining of the signatories for:

- The second amendment to the Grant Agreement between the Development Bank of the Council of Europe (CEB) and Bosnia and Herzegovina in relation to the Regional Housing Program and in connection with another subproject of the State Housing Project in Bosnia and Herzegovina,

- TFSCB Grant Agreement no. TFO5397 (EU-SILC Survey Project for Bosnia and Herzegovina) between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development

The BiH Presidency made a Decision to initiate the procedure for concluding an Agreement between the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Government of the Republic of Moldova on cooperation in the field of tourism.

The BiH Presidency adopted the decisions on granting approval for:

-The acts adopted at the meeting of the Ministers of Transport / Representatives of the Western Balkan countries, held on April 25, 2018 in Ljubljana,

- Agreement on the Government Security Program between the Ministry of Communications and Transport of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Microsoft Corporation,

- Memorandum of understanding on cooperation in research and development activities in the field of transport and information technologies between the Ministry of Communications and Transport of BiH and the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications of the Republic of Turkey.

The BiH Presidency has instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH to send a protest note to the Republic of Croatia in connection to the activities and engagement of the Croatian Intelligence and Security Agency towards and against the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina during their stay or transit through the Republic of Croatia, stated the BiH Presidency.
