BANJA LUKA, April 18 (FENA) - The National Assembly of the entity of RS today adopted the Draft Law on Amendments to the Law on Police and Internal Affairs, which envisages the establishment of a reserve police force.

The draft law got the support of 51 MPs, 19 abstained, and two voted against.

President of the caucus of"Together for BiH" in the Parliament of the RS entity Edin Ramić rejected the statements of the RS MoI that a reserve police force is being introduced due to problems with migrants in the territory of this BiH entity, because, as he said, all of the migrants are being exclusively directed to the territory of the Federation of BiH.

He warned that the proposed amendments are in contradiction with the Constitution of BiH, the European Convention on Human Rights and the Criminal Procedure Code of BiH, in the part envisaging the possibility of using persons that can hide their true identity and who can be used as informants or covert investigators.

Interior Minister Dragan Lukač confirmed that “the reserve police force in RS will comprise 20 percent of the total number of the police members, which means that it could be around 1,000, but that they will not be recruited immediately, but 100 -200 will be recruited to receive training, get uniforms and be paid when they are called to perform a task.”

The entity Prime Minister Radovan Višković said earlier that funds for the reserve police will be planned in the next year’s budget.

The RSNA adopted in emergency procedure the Law on Amendments to the Law on Salaries of Employees in the Ministry of Interior and the Law on Protection against Non-Ionizing Radiation, Radio Amateurism and the Amendments of the Law on Local Self-Government.

The session will continue on April 23, when a debate on the controversial Draft Law on Amendments to the Law on Public Peace Order is expected to take place.
