BERLIN/SARAJEVO, April 29 (FENA) – All states in the Balkans have internationally recognized borders and integrity of the internationally recognized borders is the basic principle of the European Union and I find that should remain the ruling model and principle of all further activities on this topic in area of the Western Balkans, said Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH Denis Zvizdić.
He stated this after the bilateral meeting with the EU High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security Federica Mogherini in Berlin today, adding that situation in BiH and the Balkans was one of the topics discussed at the meeting.
Zvizdić pointed to deterioration of political stability and stability of the entire Balkans in general.
During the meeting Zvizdić informed Mogherini about the situation in BiH.
“I informed her about why government has not been formed, because rule of law is not being followed, ANP and activation of MAP is not being accepted, while there is a political consensus on this issue in BiH,” said Zvizdić.
He emphasized the rule of law is the basic principle the EU is based on and BiH wants to take the path of the EU integration and it needs to accept the rule of law and act in accordance with this principle.
“Credible perspective of the EU enlargement to the Western Balkans still is a joint instrument which enables reforms and cooperation in the region,” emphasized Zvizdić.
Zvizdić is taking part in a meeting of the Western Balkan states in Berlin today. The meeting is organized by Chancellor of FR Germany Angela Merkel and President of the Republic of France Emmanuel Macron.
