MECCA/SARAJEVO, June 2 (FENA) - Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Šefik Dzaferović, led a delegation of our country at the 14th Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), held in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
Bosnia and Herzegovina has the status of an observer country in the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, which gathers 57 member states. The OIC is the world's largest organization after the United Nations.
In the final communique of the Summit, a conclusion on Bosnia and Herzegovina was adopted as well, confirming the solidarity with the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the people of our country.
The Summit has called on the political leaders in our country to join forces and speed up the reform processes that lead to a better future for BiH and its people.
One of the Summit's conclusions is that all member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation are invited to intensify cooperation with BiH, and in particular to intensify economic ties with our country.
Džaferović was welcomed in Mecca with the highest military and state honors, honoring our country in a special way given that BiH has a status of the observer.
During the Summit, the BiH Presidency member Džaferović held a series of bilateral meetings, and together with other heads of state, attended a morning meal to start the fast, organized by His Majesty King of Saudi Arabia, Salman ibn Abdulaziz, stated the BiH Presidency.
