SARAJEVO, July 9 (FENA) - Citizens of Sarajevo today took to the streets and paid honor to convoy with the 33 victims killed during the 1995 genocide in the Srebrenica area, which departed for Potočari from Visoko this morning, where a collective funeral and burial will take place on July 11.
On the way to Potocari, the convoy stopped briefly in Ilijaš and Vogošća, and then it arrived in Sarajevo, where in front of the building of the BiH Presidency, victims' families, citizens, government representatives, ambassadors and many others paid respect to the Srebrenica victims.
This year, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who is on a two-day visit to BiH and his wife Emine, also took part in send-off of the convoy together with members of the BiH Presidency Šefik Džaferović, Željko Komšić, SDA President Bakir Izetbegović, Raisu-l-ulama Husein effendi Kavazovicć, High Representative Valentin Inzko, US Ambassador Eric Nelson, Sarajevo Mayor Abdulah Skaka and other officials.
The same as every year, citizens placed flowers on the truck that transports the coffins with the remains of the victims, and in silence, saying prayers and with cries, accompanied the convoy that has briefly stopped in front of the Memorial to the murdered children of Sarajevo, at Markale market, and then through Baščaršija continuing towards Potočari, where it should arrive in the afternoon hours.
