MOSTAR, July 10 (FENA) - Several hundred workers of Mostar's Aluminij factory, which has stopped its operations last night, gathered on Wednesday afternoon in front of the building of HDZ BiH headquarters in Mostar, demanding answers to the situation with their company.
However, no one from HDZ BiH has received the workers of Aluminij Mostar. The special police force was also outside the building.
We have unofficially learned that the meeting with HDZ BiH President Dragan Čović has been agreed for tomorrow at noon in the HDZ BiH headquarters in Mostar.
Aluminij Mostar stopped working last night, four minutes after midnight, bringing in the worst-case scenario for the workers and the company of which they warned in recent days.
Due to high energy prices, Aluminij has been operating with losses for several years. The company's total debt amounts to about KM 400 million, of which more than half refers to the debt for consumed electricity.
The FBiH Government owns 44 percent of Aluminij's capital shares, small shareholders also hold 44 percent of shares, while the Government of the Republic of Croatia holds the remaining 12 percent.
