SREBRENICA, July 10 (FENA) - Member of the Presidency of BiH, Šefik Džaferović, visited today the Potočari Memorial Center before departing towards Jaglići to meet the participants of this year’s Peace March and pay tribute to the victims of the Srebrenica genocide.
“The most painful thing in this moment is the fact that all the victims of genocide have not yet been found; that not all the victims have been identified and that they have not found their final resting place, here at this cemetery in Potočari,” Džaferović told reporters.
He emphasized that a completely different problem is the denial of genocide.
“When we speak about the genocide in Srebrenica, this denial has gone even further; the perpetrators of the crime today are being glorified. At this moment, what Bosnia and Herzegovina needs the most is the law on the prohibition of genocide denial, the law that bans glorification of war criminals, and naming schools after their names. We have tried to adopt such a law many times before, and we will not give up on it,” said Džaferović.
He asked all those who know where mass graves are to finally share this information with the public.
“I believe this would be easier on them as well, and they will be more at peace when they disclose it, because the truth could never be buried. State institutions and all those in charge of the search for the missing are obliged to do everything in order to complete the process as soon as possible. Whoever has failed in completing this job will be responsible before God and before the people,” Džaferović concluded.
