Ambassador Koç - Turkey's continued growth and its path to the future

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, July 14 (FENA) - We live in a time when global events happen at fast speed creating a completely new world order. We are at a sharp turning point where the flow of time is accelerating, impossible becoming possible, where even the main players of the global system can not predict the results of the events, writes the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey in Bosnia and Herzegovina Haldun Koç in his article on the occasion of marking the third anniversary of the coup attempt in his country.

In the near past, Turkey has experienced trials that reflect the characteristics of the times and which have been the turning points. Even today, it can be clearly seen that these trials continue in the present day. Drawing on the strength of its deep and grand historical heritage, as well as its centuries-old experience, our country has been successfully dealing with and will continue to deal with all these tribulations.

A gruesome coup attempt carried out as a terrorist attack on July 15, 2016, has been inscribed in history as one of the difficult trials that our country faced. For our country that has gone a long way in shaping the future with lessons learned from the past, this painful event was a trigger to learn some new, very important lessons.

Thanks to its strong democracy and institutionalized state systematics, the Republic of Turkey has emerged from this shocking coup attempt untouched and, as an international actor with somewhat more developed immunity against similar incidents, it has begun to develop policies that are founded on the same traditional foundations of peace, but focused on somewhat more ambitious goals.

In this new age, the unity and integrity of the Turkish people function as a deterrent factor. The basic story behind the fact that these trials and tribulations made us even more powerful, and as one can foresee, what stands behind it is the strong will of our people.

Turkey passed the test on July 15, and on its territory, it carefully and legally accounted heavily with the terrorist organization FETÖ, a dark force behind this abominable coup attempt. The fact that, with the support of friendly and brotherly countries around the world, this organization has been neutralized step by step, in some other places where it has nestled and that is something that rejoices not only our country but the entire world.

We are determined to continue our fight until the day when FETÖ is removed from all areas in which it operates under various masks. In this process, we will continue to warn all our friends and partners, including Bosnia and Herzegovina, about FETÖ and call for close cooperation, which international cooperation in the fight against terrorism implies precisely. We will continue the fruitful cooperation with the BiH authorities with the ultimate goal of ending the existence of this organization in the country.

Our people today are more determined than ever to preserve and carry on the country's independence and democracy into the future.

Our country, with its strong institutional structure, will continue to grow and strengthen while moving towards the future and it will be a guarantee of peace and security in its region and the world, under all the conditions and in all times, concluded Ambassador Koç in his article.
