SARAJEVO, July 22 (FENA) - Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Šefik Džaferović said that the case of the announced construction of a nuclear waste disposal site in Trgovska Gora in Croatia, right on the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina shows that the member of the BiH Presidency, Milorad Dodik, made a big mistake and has caused harm for everyone in BiH when he made a decision at the last session of the Presidency to work for the best interest of Croatia and against the interests of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“Dodik's decision to block the Presidency's conclusions regarding the border issue between BiH and Croatia, and our country’s right to access open seas, contrary to the interests of BiH, was obviously seen by the official Zagreb as a signal of lenience and an opportunity to continue with endangering the interests of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” said Džaferović in statement to FENA.
He added that he tried to explain to Dodik that his accommodating attitude towards Croatia and agreeing to work for its best interests, instead of those of his own country, Bosnia and Herzegovina, would be disadvantageous for the entire BiH, including both of the entities, which, he says, has been confirmed in this case.
“The BiH Presidency must protect the interests of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and this goes as well for the case of demarcation line at the border in the Neum Bay, and in the case of Trgovska Gora, as well as in all other cases.
We can do this effectively only if all members of the BiH Presidency are committed to their constitutional obligation to protect the interests of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina and all its citizens,” concluded Džaferović.
