Khan: City of Bihać shows humanity regarding protection of migrant children

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, July 30 (FENA) - After the recent appointment to the post, UNICEF Representative to Bosnia and Herzegovina Rownak Khan visited the City of Bihać with associates, and met with Mayor Šuhreta Fazlić and Director of the Bihać Center for Social Work. She informed Senad Tutić about the activities that are being carried out when it comes to the care of minors who are in migration.

“In the year in which we are celebrating the 30th anniversary since the adoption of the Charter of the Rights of the Child, it is absolutely certain that we must all make every effort to ensure that vulnerable groups, including migrant children, are being protected and provided with the childhood they deserve,” Khan said.

She thanked the City of Bihać, as a local community, saying that it showed a great degree of professionalism and humanity when it comes to the protection of migrant children, as well as the children of the local population. She says that she has seen that for herself when visiting Sedra today,” said the Mayor of Bihać.

Thanking UNICEF for their cooperation and support so far, which has provided care for several hundred migrant children and provided education and inclusion with peers in Bihać, Bihać Mayor Šuhreta Fazlić said the Center for Social Work staff fulfilled their mission and helped children.
