SARAJEVO, August 15 (FENA) - The Sarajevo Canton Minister of Interior Admir Katica presented today initiative and plan of forming a helicopter unit. In addition to the unit he also presented a multi-purpose helicopter procurement plan for the Sarajevo Canton MoI operational and civilian purposes to the members of the Sarajevo Canton Government.
“Many embassies, international and national organizations and institutions are located in the Sarajevo Canton. This is a city where major cultural and sporting events take place, and in geographical terms it is also a mountainous area, which makes it specific and requires special treatment in the field of safety. The Sarajevo Canton MoI is committed to creating a better security environment in the Sarajevo Canton, i.e. preventing criminal activities, maintaining law and order, traffic safety, and undertaking all activities to serve citizens through quality work,” said Katica.
He explained that special police tasks are often carried out on demanding and difficult places to reach and in order for special police units to perform the tasks as successfully as possible the best transport is by helicopter.
