Dodik meets Municipality Mayors of Bosanski Petrovac, Glamoč, Bosansko Grahovo

FENA Press release

SARAJEVO, August 21 (FENA) - Bosnia and Herzegovina Presidency Member Milorad Dodik spoke today with municipality mayors of Bosanski Petrovac, Glamoč, Bosansko Grahovo and Drvar in Banja Luka.

They discussed the position of Serbs in municipalities in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the announcement of the Cantonal Committee of the Croat Democratic Union (HDZ) BiH Livno on marking the 24th anniversary of the alleged liberation of Bosansko Grahovo, Glamoč and Drvar, as it is said in a statement of the BiH Presidency. They also discussed the intention to place migrants at the location Medeno Polje in the municipality of Bosanski Petrovac.

They stated at the meeting that the position of Serbs in these municipalities is difficult and discriminatory in many segments.

Dodik stressed that Serbs in the Federation of BiH have been ignored by cantonal and Federation authorities even though they exercise local authority.

They concluded that it is necessary to proceed to the urgent amendment of the constitution of the cantons, and to include in the provisions a clause on the constituency of Serbs in those cantons.

Dodik also believes the announcement of the anniversary of liberation is an unnecessary provocation against Serbs in this area. It was decided that, should this happen, Serbs from those municipalities will organize a protest gathering and prevent the event from happening.

Dodik said that Republika Srpska does not accept that any centers for migrants will be established in the municipality of Bosanski Petrovac, and once again urged Serbs, ministers of the BiH Council of Ministers, not to vote for the opening of such center in Medeno Polje, in the municipality of Bosanski Petrovac.
