SARAJEVO, August 30 (FENA) - Embassy of Russia to BiH commented on a statement by the PIC Steering Board, stating its disagreement with the OHR's assessment of the seriousness of the situation and the actual ways out proposed by OHR and PIC.
"We start from the fact that the issue of government formation of the BiH institutions after the elections last year is exclusively urgent. Uncertainty paralyzes the work of institutions, the country is going through a deep political crisis that affects the well-being of citizens, hinders the implementation of necessary reforms, damages the international position of BiH," Embassy of Russia assessed in a written comment.
Embassy of Russia stated that the current situation requires urgent measures, and unfortunately the offered draft of the statement deviates from this.
At the same time, we have to say that the agreement of the three political leaders, who signed the principles of forming the BiH Council of Ministers on August 5, has failed. The irreconcilable positions on sending the ANP have blocked the dialogue. This situation can last indefinitely. At the same time, important issues for the country will not be resolved, political and interethnic tensions will increase.
We considered it necessary to make this clear in the statement, not only to call for dialogue, but to propose that answers for a solution are approached as responsibly as possible, based on the Principle of August 5.
They also proposed a concrete solution, which some politicians and diplomats talked about, focusing on those topics that unite the people of BiH and their political leaders (they found themselves in the Principles) and leave differences to future institutions that will consider them within the established procedures, in accordance with the laws of BiH and its international obligations.
We are convinced that decisions enabling the formation of the BiH Council of Ministers can be made in the coming days, in accordance with the aforementioned agreement between the leaders of the three leading political parties in BiH, it is said at the end of a statement by the Embassy of Russia to BiH.
