SARAJEVO, September 9 (FENA) - On the occasion of the 26th anniversary of war crime in the village of Grabovica near Jablanica, the Association for Social Research and Communications (UDIK) presented the publication "War Crime in Grabovica - Judgements".
The publication is published as the eighth book in the edition: War Crimes - Transcripts of Court Judgements in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
"This war crime took place on the night of September 8th to 9th, 1993, when members of the RBiH Army brutally killed 33 victims of Croat ethnicity in the village of Grabovica, located between Jablanica and Mostar. There were 17 women and a child among the victims. The youngest victim was Mladenka Zadro, a four-year-old girl, and the oldest 87-year-old Marko Marić. The crime in Grabovica occurred during Operation 'Neretva 93', aimed at conquering HVO-controlled areas from Bugojno to Mostar, " UDIK said.
It is said in a statement that the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (BiH) released Sefer Halilović, the creator of Operation Neretva '93 and Deputy commander of the Supreme Command Staff of the Army of Bosnia and Herzegovina (ABiH).
Former members of the RBiH Army were held responsible before the domestic courts in Bosnia and Herzegovina for individual killings, but none for war crimes against civilians and (or) under command responsibility. To date, five members of the RBiH Army have been adjudicated.
Mustafa Hota was sentenced to nine years in prison, Enes Šakrak was sentenced to ten years in prison, while Nihad Vlahovljak, Sead Karagić and Haris Rajkić were sentenced to thirteen years.
